Mail Days and Knitty, Here I Come!
As you can see from last night's post, the plying of Wendy's sock yarn is finished! I have a clock skeiner for my Majacraft wheel that I've never used and I'm planning on getting that out tonight and skeining up the yarn. Then I'll wash it and set the twist in it and let it dry. It should be ready to package up and send out in the mail by the weekend!

I'm sending off an earwarmer to The Ship's Project today and am just over halfway finished with the crocheted hat. The sole is finished on the second dorm boot and I'm hoping that they will be ready to go in the mail by the weekend as well. I think for the rest of the month I'm going to switch to making some baby hats for the local chapter of Newborns in Need. I'll pick up again for The Ship's Project in January.

Looking at my Project Table, I think I'll concentrate on getting Mike's Regia socks finished by Christmas. There's also a secret sewing project that I need to have finished by Christmas (can't list it here right now just in case the recipient reads my blog!). I'll just say that it's a sewing project and I've pre-washed the fabrics. I plan to cut out the fabric by the weekend.

I took an initial flip through the new Vogue Knitting mag last night. I have to say that I really like this issue (but I generally like most of the VK issues.) You can always depend on them to do something different. I liked a lot of the designs just because they were put together a little differently or combined things that aren't normally combined. I like to look at VK as a general fashion statement. It's not that I would necessarily sit down and knit an exact replica from one of the patterns, but I like to see what design elements are being used and what strikes my fancy. It's the search for a new or unique technique that I haven't tried before that interests me. In my mind, VK has a certain personality that you can always depend on. It may not be a personality you like, but it's there all the same. They seem to have a sense of what they want to be. I like that in a mag. If you want to be crazy and trendy, then by all means *be crazy and trendy* and don't make any apologies.

I have a sweater design starting to float around in my head. I'm thinking that I may make that my stash project after the first of the year. If it pans out like I think, I plan to submit it to Knitty. I had purchased the Knitty Messenger Bag after the release of the first issue, so I think that I will carry my secret Knitty project around in that bag for inspiration! I am *definitely* going to get the Knitty clock for my craft room when we get it put together!
